Lynn Woods Walk SATURDAY 9/17 and Saturday 9/24
Every year, Essex National Heritage organizes “Trails and Sails” weekends in September. It’s a great way to get to know Essex County: there are free events including whale watches, guided walks through historic areas, house tours, and of course walks through local conservation areas such as Lynn Woods. Our two events are this Saturday 9/17 at 11:00 and 9/24 at 10:00 at the Great Woods entrance. See this page for more information. There are many interesting and fun events on the schedule throughout the county.

Conservation Easement Update
At the last Friends of Lynn Woods meeting recently, the Board of Directors reviewed a proposed “parcel exchange” from Kelly Automotive Group. Kelly has a dealership on Route 1 and would like to expand the dealership along that highway.
After a careful review, the Board felt that the proposed swap was not in the best interests of the Woods or the public and sent a letter so stating to Mayor Flanagan Kennedy. The Mayor has said that the Friend’s approval would be needed for any such swap.
Otherwise nothing much has happened on the Easement. Now that fall has arrived it should start moving along again.
